Welcome to kached ("we," "our," or "the app"). kached is a language learning flashcard application designed to help you memorize, maintain, and master vocabulary through spaced repetition.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to minimizing data collection and protecting your privacy.

If you subscribe to our Polyglot service tier, we store your flashcard content in the cloud for synchronization across devices:
Free and Pro users: Your flashcards are stored locally on your device only and are not uploaded to our servers.

Free users and Pro users: All notifications are handled locally on your device. No device tokens are sent to our servers.
Periodic reminders: Always use local notifications. No device tokens are sent to our servers, regardless of service tier.
We use Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) to collect automatic usage statistics:
We do not track custom events beyond what Firebase Analytics collects automatically. This data is aggregated and anonymized.
Free users (non-Pro, non-Polyglot) see advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob collects:
This data is collected and processed by Google AdMob, not by us. Pro and Polyglot subscribers do not see ads and AdMob is not initialized for their accounts.
We use the following third-party services that may collect and process your data:
Firebase provides our backend infrastructure (authentication, database, storage, analytics, messaging). All Firebase services are subject to Google's privacy policies.
AdMob serves advertisements to free users. AdMob collects advertising identifiers and usage data for ad personalization.
We use Google Sign-In for authentication. Your email and profile information are managed by Google, not stored on our servers.
In-app purchases are processed by Apple and Google. We do not handle payment information directly.
Your data is retained as long as your account is active and you continue using the app.
If you unsubscribe from the Polyglot tier, your cloud-synced flashcard data will be automatically deleted after 90 days. This gives you time to resubscribe if you change your mind.
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at support@kached.cards. We will permanently delete:

Our app is not directed at children under the age of 13 and kached, LLC. is not interested in the age of our users as we do not collect this information independently.
While the app may be suitable for users of all ages to learn languages, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.

Note on Notifications: Children using free or Pro service tiers will only have local notifications (handled entirely on their device). Device tokens for cloud-based notifications are only collected for Polyglot subscribers who enable Smart Reminders or use Daily Reminders across multiple devices.

Google AdMob does not serve personalized ads to users identified as children under COPPA regulations. If you are a parent and want to ensure your child does not see any ads at all, you can purchase the Pro tier ($2.99 one-time) to remove all advertisements.
You can view your cloud-synced data within the app. For a full export, contact us at support@kached.cards.

kached is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the app from outside the U.S., please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. or other countries where our service providers operate.
